Mayor to White House: Don’t call

Hamtramck Mayor Amer Ghalib

President Biden continues to get an icy reception from the Muslim community, both across the country and here in Michigan.
Recently, Biden was going to invite a number of Muslim community leaders to the White House for an iftar dinner, which is held to break the daily fast during Ramadan.
Muslim community leaders have rebuffed Biden ever since Israel invaded Gaza. They are upset with Biden for continuing to support Israel with military weapons.
Some 33,000 Palestinians have died since Israel’s invasion, which was in retaliation of Hamas invading Israel and killing 1,200 Israelis and taking over 200 people as hostage.
Biden is depending on the support of Muslims in key swing states this election season, of which Michigan is one. But Muslim community members largely sat out the primary, and have vowed to remain “uncommitted” in the November election.
At least so far.
Hamtramck Mayor Amer Ghalib and the city council, who are all-male and all-Muslim, are among those who are remaining uncommitted.
The White House didn’t announce who they had invited, other than Muslim Democratic Party staff members.
Ghalib said that, even if he had been invited, he would not have gone.
“I have expressed before that I won’t be attending any meeting with Biden or any of his administration at this time, so they know not to invite me,” Ghalib told The Review.
Biden has recently demanded that the Israel government enter into a ceasefire with Hamas. Israel has reportedly pulled out of Gaza for the most part, in an effort to regroup and strategize its next move, which now appears to be invading an area where over one million Palestinian refugees are living.
Biden has also warned the Israeli government not to take that military action.
Several Democratic congressional members, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are now urging Biden to withhold military aid to Israel.

All that I can say about those “uncommitted” voters of whatever stripe that you happen to wear…if Biden is awful for you–imagine Trump. Especially for Muslims– he ran the first time on “Muslim ban!”!!

So right what Jeffrey said, Trump will Ban Muslim and anyone else of color. Vote for him, your right. As some of you have said, we will suffer with Trump for 4 years. If he gets in, he is never leaving. And we all suffer.

Too not vote for President Biden will put a tyrant like trump as president who dislikes Muslims now. President Biden is in a difficult position. He has been trying his best to get Netanyahu to a ceasefire. But he has no control over another leader actions. We need to keep trump out of the WH

it is understood what trump said about the muslim ban, but i was talking to yemanis and they told me that more yemanis came in under the trump administration than any other administration. so they know what they are getting themselves into.
