Labor Day Fest music lineup is offering some top acts

This year’s Hamtramck Labor Day Festival (Aug. 31-Sept. 2) is offering a number of huge musical acts.
That includes hometown hero Mike Skill of the Romantics. He wrote quite a few numbers for the mega-hit group such as “What I Like About You” and “Talking in your Sleep.”
He plays with another local fave, Ricky Rat on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
Also getting people excited is the Canadian group Sloan, which plays also on Sept. 1, but the time slot for them to perform hasn’t been listed yet.
We could go on and on with who’s performing, but it would easier if you take a gander at the festival’s Facebook page to sift through the music lineup.
We’ll have more to say in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, here’s a teaser:
There’s one act in the works that we can’t yet say who it is, but it’s someone who got their humble start in Hamtramck and went on to superstardom.
If all things work out, this performer will hit the stage on Sept. 2 in the early evening.
Want a hint?
Let’s just say, it might get loud.
