Hop on over now for some fresh lemonade and help a good cause

Got a thirst for a fresh lemonade drink, or sun-brewed tea, or a hankering for  popcorn, cookies or a frosted brownie?
We can even sweeten the deal. There is a lemonade stand at the corner of Yemans and Brombach that is being run by an adorable Fiala Salatrik, all of 10 years old.
There’s only one thing: the stand closes today (Aug. 2) at 6:30 p.m.
We asked Fiala the “why” question, fully expecting her to say to raise some money for herself. But we were wrong.
“My best friend’s sister has cancer,” she said, while petting her equally adorable stuffed cat toy, all full of orange fluffiness.
Her mother, Angel, said money is specifically going to pediatric cancer research at Motts Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, which is where Fiala’s friend’s sister is now going.
The sister is 3 years old and has been battling cancer for nearly all her life. The little girl’s family also lives in Hamtramck.
Hurry up over and dish out a generous donation! You only have another hour to go!
