Two suspects were arraigned Thursday in the abduction and attempted sexual assault of a Hamtramck woman.
As The Review went to press Thursday, the Police Department issued a press release saying suspects Aaron Rashard Steward, 22, and Quentin Davon Flemons, 19, both from Detroit, were charged with multiple felony counts.
They were arraigned via video hook-up with the Hamtramck 31st district Court.
Bond for each suspect was set at $5 million. They will be in Hamtramck 31st District Court on Nov. 9 for their preliminary examination.
The men are accused of abducting a 27-year-old Hamtramck woman who was on her bike at Denton near Lumpkin on Oct. 8.
The abduction was reported to be the third incident following two other abductions of women on bikes in the area of Russell and Milwaukee – near the Russell Industrial Center.
According to media reports, the two suspects are connected with the other attacks.
In at least one case, a woman was raped.
The women who were abducted said they were forced into a van and driven to an isolated area where they were assaulted.
Few details have been released about the incidents.
In the Hamtramck matter, the suspects took the woman’s ATM card to steal money from her bank.
